This pack of visuals can help students, special needs students in particular, in seeing and understanding the daily class routine so as to be able to better stay on task and focused for work. It also aims to help students in knowing and understanding what behaviour is expected of them and to allow greater communication where speech is often delayed.
This School Pack of visuals was created in conjunction with a number of current school teachers who came from both mainstream classes and special unit classes. We also consulted a number of teachers aides for their feedback and suggestions as to what they needed in working with special needs students. As a result the pack contains visuals suitable for a lanyard for the teacher and the student as well as class routine and behaviour visuals that can be used for a whole class setting. The In-Class sequences were also designed to be be cut and placed on a lanyard that can be easily access and transported for movement outside of the classroom allowing the student to understand what activity is taking place and the behaviour expectations. The green "Then" cards are used as motivators to get to desired activities. The Stop signs are also great for placing directly on or near places that you don't want students to go or touch.
